Richard has over 25 years’ experience within the finance industry, most of which has been in business lending. When the opportunity arose to open his own business, he chose the RAMS model because of its unique approach. He secured the territory and enthusiastically opened the Revesby office of RAMS in September 2015. RAMS had not had a branch within the area for six years so Richard viewed it as an exciting opportunity.
Having lived in the area for more than 13 years, Richard felt an affinity with the community and believed he would be able to offer successful services. He understood that with so many businesses in the region it was a ripe RAMS heartland.
He chose to open the office in Revesby due to its reputation as a financial hub. Many banks and other financial institutions have consolidated there from Padstow and Panania.
Plus, the parking is significantly easier than the Bankstown CBD. It is also a convenient location for people travelling from the outer reaches of his territory, which spans from Peakhurst, Panania, Roselands and Campsie, across to Chullora and down to East Hills.
Richard’s team of three, which includes his wife, are dedicated to building relationships. Their business is often through referral, so they know they must provide fantastic service every time. And this is reflected in them winning the “Self-Employed Lender of the Year Award” the last two years through the Australian Lending Awards.
“We help business owners get into the house that they deserve. They work hard, they have a lot of equity and sweat equity tied up in their business. Just because they don’t get the same pay deposited into their bank account every fortnight, like a school teacher or a public servant, doesn’t mean they aren’t a good risk. The regularly paid person could be made redundant tomorrow whereas the business owner will run their business until the end.”

Richard is an enthusiastic local community member. RAMS Revesby are sponsors of St George Little Athletics where his children participate in regular activities.
Richard also arranges for Raymond the Ram to attend local fairs and fetes including Bankstown Bites, Lugarno Fair and Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs events. Sadly, Richard is too tall to wear the Raymond costume himself!
He enjoys being active with the SW Bankstown Chamber of Commerce and is excited to see how the many current developments will unlock the region.

We know there’s a tabloid newspaper view of Bankstown, but the key thing they don’t appreciate is the diversity, both culturally and business-wise.
