CBCC – BA5 – Night Time Economy

April 29 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

🌟 Illuminate Your Night: A Night Economy Extravaganza! 🌟

Join us for an unforgettable evening dedicated to celebrating and exploring the vibrant Night Economy at the Bryan Brown Theatre & Function Centre, hosted by the Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce.

The purpose of the Canterbury Bankstown Counci l- Night Time Economy Action Plan is to support a vibrant and viable night time economy (“NTE”) across the 34 centres that make up Canterbury-Bankstown Local Government Area (“LGA”).

NSW Government has implemented Vibrancy Reforms to boost NSW’s night economy, benefiting live music, dining, and creative sectors and workers, and bringing vibrancy back to NSW’s night-time economy and community. Regulation around noise, planning and liquor licensing has been streamlined, updated and simplified through the NSW Government’s 24-Hour Economy Legislation (Vibrancy Reforms) Amendment Act 2023. This means venues in NSW will have the opportunity to reach their full entertainment, economic and creative potential – especially at night. The Vibrancy Reforms are a cross-government initiative developed in consultation with key agencies, industry, councils and stakeholders to bring sector regulation in line with contemporary going out behaviours, improve government processes and encourage more people to go out, closer to home.

Canterbury Bankstown is the 8th largest economy in NSW with an estimated GRP of $15.8 billion. It has the largest (and growing) population in NSW and, the second highest number of registered businesses in the State.

Approximately 20% of all employment in Canterbury Bankstown is linked to the night time economy with more than 7,000 local businesses trading and contributing. Canterbury-Bankstown is rapidly growing, expanding and evolving. We want to make sure that our City during the day and at night meets the needs and expectation of our community, and provides the right conditions to grow and thrive. We aspire to be a night city that is diverse and welcoming, that feels safe, well-designed, accessible and it celebrates our unique identity and diverse community.

Businesses are encouraged to come and participate in this candid event of discussion and debate.
